Jess and I have been doing a lot of traveling each day and we were in need of some R&R. This morning we got up a little later than usual. It was nice to have a few extra minutes to sleep. We also knew after our school visits we had the five-hour drive to Atlanta. We wanted to make sure we were rested up for the long day.
We had quite a bit of traveling to do in Charlotte. The schools we had on our list were spread out all over the city and suburbs. We had to weave our way through a lot of different interstate interchanges and highway junctions. When we started the day we weren’t sure which schools were close to the hotel. I think we may have backtracked a little bit, but we made it work and had fun on the bus while we drove from place to place.
At one of the schools a counselor let us know that the guidance departments at schools in her district aren’t supposed to suggest supplements to students if they haven’t been approved by their director. She gave us the director’s contact information. Since the rest of the schools on our list were in the same district we decided it was a better use of our resources to contact the director … directly.
It was getting late and we needed to head towards Atlanta, so it really worked out for the best. The drive to ATL was long, but it had very pretty scenery. Once we got into the city it wasn’t so pretty anymore. It took us 50 minutes to go six miles. It was rough times … but we survived with good shuffle on the iPod. We had an impromptu dance party on the bus.
We found a restaurant close to the hotel and ate some good Greek food. Tomorrow we start visiting schools around ATL! Yeah for being in the same city for a few days!
